Hello readers, I just wanted to introduce myself.  My name is Curry Russell. First and foremost, I am a Christian.  I am now a Member of Vinton Baptist Church with my fiancée Jennifer Winn. We will be married there on September 16, 2006.  I was raised in the Point Pleasant area and graduated High School from Point Pleasant in 1996.  I joined the Army in 1998, being attached to 5th Special Forces at Ft. Campbell, KY.  I spent 4 years traveling the world and ending my tour of duty after my 6 months near Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. I left the military and worked for the city of Clarksville, TN as Systems Administrator.  This city was much larger than Pt. Pleasant, but city structure should be similar across the board. I now work as a 9-1-1 communications installation technician for the worlds largest 9-1-1 hardware and software provider, Positron Public Safety Systems. I get to see many other cities and small towns just like ours. We have such a great town.  It is amazing to see our river auditorium.  It is the nicest I have seen anywhere in the country.  Larger river cities like Nashville, TN and Huntington,WV do not have such nice river front areas.  But other areas of the town just make no sense for a river city. I moved back to the area to be close to friends and family that I have been away from for the past 7 years. I hope that I can be an influence to our town and citizens.  I hope that I can offer help when needed and be a good neighbor.  My friends and family were always telling me that my mouth would get me in trouble, but I have always taken the good with the bad.  I love speaking my mind and understand that my opinion isnt always taken well, but if you have a problem with what I say, just let it go. I would love to eventually have a weekly opinion forum, offering advice and maybe polls for all of us to use to gain information. Thanks for all the great comments!!  Email me: curryrussell@gmail.com The West Columbian.
